NalandaWay Foundation is a registered public charitable trust headquartered in Chennai. The people behind the trust and their background are provided below.

Sriram V. Ayer

Sriram in his earlier assignment worked for a leading technology firm in Chennai, India as the Head of New Initiatives. He holds a Post Graduate qualification in Advertising and Communications. After his early years as an entrepreneur, he has been involved in various capacities from 1998 to August 04 in, Product development, Advertising, and International Marketing. Sriram was elected an Ashoka Fellow in 2004 (Ashoka:Innovators for the Public, USA - www.ashoka.org). Recently Sriram was elected as the “Architect of the Future” by Waldzell Institute, Vienna, Austria. Sriram is the founder of NalandaWay Foundation and is involved full time in the management of the organisation.

T.V.Venkataraman

Mr. Venkataraman after serving as the Chief Secretary to the Government of Tamilnadu retired from the Indian Administrative Service in May 1994. His vast experience in the fields of district administration, transport, infrastructure development, rural planning, social education and law & order maintenance helped him guide the State in policy formation and implementation in the State of Tamil Nadu for over three decades. His contribution to comparative philosophy and religion is well known. His keen interest in the methodology and contents of the new education and learning systems is inspired by his deep insight in the area of Indian culture, religion and philosophy. Mr. Venkataraman has played a critical role in shaping the approach and contents of the organisation. He spearheads the strategic initiatives of the organisation.

S.K. Venkataraman

As the Chief Financial Officer of Apollo Hospitals group and Chartered Accountant, Mr. Venkataraman brings in immense expertise in the financial administration of the trust. Mr. Venkataraman is philanthropist and supports numerous causes. He is also the Managing Trustee of the Sri Muthusamy Dikshitar Foundation for promotion of classical music. He is a Trustee and advises the foundation on governance, policy and resource mobilisation.

Dr. Vetrievel

Dr. Vetrievel is the Chief Operating Officer of International Business – Projects, Apollo Hospitals Group. Dr. Vetrievel is also an orthopedic surgeon of repute. He is seriously committed to the cause of providing good and affordable healthcare for the poor and needy. He is also a director in Social Solutions and Innovations Limited for bringing in systemic innovations in the social sector. He is a Trustee in NalandaWay Foundation and advises on areas relating to resource mobilisation and project implementation.

Padmashri. Dr. Anandakrishnan

Dr. Anandakrishnan is the former Vice Chancellor of Anna University and the IT advisor to the Tamil Nadu Government. He consults both the Union and State Governments on areas relating to educational methodology, technical education and curriculum. Currently he is the Chairman of Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. Dr. Anandakrishnan is a Trustee of NalandaWay Foundation and advises the foundation on areas like strategy, methodology and delivery channels.

Jayanth Vincent

Jayanth comes with over eight years of experience as the Director for media and communications with World Vision India, an international humanitarian organization focussed on the development of children. Apart from initiating and running several social change campaigns focussed on child labour, HIV and AIDS and child malnutrition, Jayanth has played important roles in brand development for World Vision India and its international offices over the last few years. Jayanth serves as the Principal Consultant in the social communications practice of Nalandaway.

Patrick Matthews

Patrick works for Ibhar Technologies, Chennai, India as the Head of Research and Development and holds a Masters In Science from IIT, Chennai. He has been involved in new technology research, and product architecture design at Ibhar since 1996. Patrick also played a significant role towards the growth of “SEAT” during its formative years. Patrick is the co-founder and Managing Trustee of NalandaWay Foundation and heads the technology enablement initiatives of the Trust.
